Tokyo is one of those places in the world that you have to visit at least once, because of its beauty and mix of old fashioned manners and modern living. From the beautiful skyscrapers and the ancient temples, there are a lot of places to visit and things to do when you are in Tokyo, which is why we have narrowed down the list of things that you have to do when you are in Tokyo to 5, and have listed them below.

#5. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in the world, and one of the places that you have to visit whenever you are in Tokyo. It has different gardens like the English Landscape, the Japanese Traditional, the French Formal, and the Mother and Child Forest. If you are visiting the park in late March or Early April, you will get to enjoy the cherry blossom season, which adds even more beauty to the park. This is a great place to have a picnic, and enjoy some quiet time in nature.

There is more to see and do in Tokyo other than visit parks, but Yoyogi Park makes this list because it is probably the most entertaining park in the world. Due to the fact that living quarters are very small in Tokyo, a lot of people go to Yoyogi Park for meetings, rehearsals and other activities that require having some room. So anytime you visit the park, you don’t know what to expect. You can run into people engaged in Cosplay, Elvis impersonators, hip hop dancers, or horn players. The bottom line is that you will be entertained whenever you visit Yoyogi Park.

This shrine is dedicated to the 19th century emperor that opened Japan up to the West. It is a serene place to visit, and it doesn’t have the flashiness some of the other shrines and temples have. The beauty of visiting this shrine is that it isn’t a tourist trap like other shrines in the city, so you can enjoy the beauty of the shrine without too much interruption. While visiting the Meiji Shrine on a Sunday, you are likely to see a traditional Japanese wedding, and a few other interesting things.

A trip to Tokyo wouldn’t be complete without taking in some sumo wrestling action, every year, there are three grand tournaments, which means if you visit in January, March, or September, you are in for a treat because you will get to see the best sumo wrestlers in the country.
