Backpacking is a fun way to travel, because you get to enjoy the outdoors, while visiting places you have never seen before. It is also a cheaper way to travel, because you won’t have to spend money on renting a car and all the expenses that come with it. With that being said, there are a lot of great places to go backpacking all over the world, and we will take a look at some of them, with this list of the top 5 places to backpack.
#5. India.
Some people complain about travelling to India, because it is densely populated, but India is one of the top destinations for backpackers, because it is a beautiful country with amazing architecture, lovely beaches, it has beautiful monuments like the Taj Mahal, there’s great food, and best of all, it is not expensive to travel around.
#4. Thailand.
There are a lot of great countries in Southeast Asia to travel around as a tourist, but there is something about Thailand that sets it apart from the rest of them. There are a lot of ancient temples that you have to check out, they have beautiful beaches, the locals are very friendly, it is very easy to get around, and also quite cheap, so you won’t have to worry about going over your budget.
#3. Morocco.
There is something mystical about Morocco that makes it stand out, because it is one of those places that you just can’t get enough of. You will get to experience a lot of ancient traditions, see how vast the Sahara Desert is from the mountain tops, enjoy watching street performers and vendors, and even take in a snake charmer performance while you are there. Travelling through the ancient streets of Morocco is always a great backpacking experience.
#2. Serbia.
A lot of people are starting to discover the beauty of Eastern European countries, and Serbia is quickly becoming one of the popular backpacking destinations. Serbia has a lot of old cathedrals and monasteries to visit, the snowy mountains have made it one of the most popular skiing destinations in Europe, and Belgrade has quickly become a must visit destination for tourists, because of the museums, and nightlife.
#1. Rome.
Rome has been a big tourist destination over the years, and the fact that it is always crowded might turn some backpackers off. But if you are interested in art and history, there is no way you can avoid a backpacking trip to Rome. You can get to tour the Coliseum, visit the old Forum, and enjoy some very good wine, which makes it my favorite place to go backpacking.
